Wat een details! Wat is Clockwork Prince een heerlijk boek! 510 pagina’s om van te smullen.
In dit deel, wat ik misschien zelfs wel beter vond dan Clockwork Angel, kreeg je een veel duidelijker beeld van de wereld waarin onze helden leven. Waar ik vond dat CA’s hoofdpersonen iets te veel leken op die uit de Mortal Instruments Serie, kregen ze hier meer een eigen persoonlijkheid waardoor ik ze leuker en leuker begon te vinden. Eindelijk kon ik ze als andere personages zien en niet als afgietsels van de andere boeken.

Ik moet zeggen dat ik er in het begin wat langzamer doorheen ging dan verwacht. Clare schrijft zo vol detail dat je aandacht er goed bij moet blijven, anders mis je belangrijke gegevens. Ik was een aantal avonden best moe, dus het lezen ging toen minder lekker dan verwacht. Maar toen ik er eenmaal voor ging zitten, knalde ik door de pagina’s.
Clockwork Prince heeft echt van alles, geschiedenis, fantasy, avontuur, actie, romantiek… Voor ieder wat wils.

Hoewel ik een beetje moe wordt van Liefdesdriehoeken, had ik er toen ik het boek uit had een goed gevoel over. Niet dat eeuwenlange gezeur over wie moet ik kiezen en jongens die elkaar half afmaken.. Gewoon een keuze en acceptatie.. Fijn! Ik ben wel heel erg benieuwd hoe dit verder zal gaan in het volgende boek.

Al met al ben ik heel blij dat ik Clockwork Prince eindelijk heb gelezen… Ik had hem al een tijdje in de kast staan en hoewel ik wel vaker dikkere boeken lees, had ik op een of andere manier even geen puf voor deze 510 pagina tellende rakker. Nu city of bones bijna uitkomt, zit ik weer helemaal in het Shadowhunterfeeling en heb ik mijn vriend gisteren met puppyoogjes gevraagd of we naar de film gaan. ‘Ja hoor’ was het antwoord. YES!!!! Ennuh.. van mij mogen er nog heel veel Shadowhunterverhalen uitkomen… Ik zal ze allemaal lezen!
