Mijn favoriete boeken in juni

In juni had ik een fijne leesmaand. Ik las veel en ook heel veel leuks. Het was daarom ook lastig om er een paar uit te pikken die ik net dat beetje extra onder de aandacht wil brengen. Toch heb ik er zes (eigenlijk zeven) die ik graag wil laten zien.

Sky in the deep & The girl the sea gave back

Ik had vet veel zin om SitD opnieuw te lezen, vooral omdat ik een ARC mocht ontvangen van The Girl the Sea Gave Back. Beide boeken vond ik fantastisch.

Ik vond boek één heel erg leuk en ook dit vervolg – met Felicity in de hoofdrol – kon me erg bekoren. De feministische ondertoon vond ik natuurlijk fantastisch!

Van cheerleader naar kick-ass Paladin. Rebel Belle was een heerlijk grappig en dramatische paranormal romance YA. Ik heb er met volle teugen van genoten en ik denk dat heel veel van jullie dit ook een fantastisch boek zullen vinden.

Gebroken

Net als Gewist was ook Gebroken weer spannend van begin tot eind. Wat een heerlijk boek! Deze trilogie is een van de degelijkste binnen het genre. Super goed uitgewerkt!

Ik zou door moeten zijn na wat ik gisteren deed: vernietigd door de chip die ze in mijn hoofd aanbrachten toen ik werd Gewist.
Kyla hoort zich niets te herinneren van voordat ze werd Gewist. Maar de duistere geheimen uit haar verleden zitten nog ergens diep in haar verstopt. Als haar oude en nieuwe leven zich met elkaar vermengen, raakt ze verstrikt in een levensgevaarlijke strijd tegen de Hoeders – zonder enig idee wie ze wel en niet kan vertrouwen. Ondertussen heeft ze maar één echte missie: Ben vinden.
In dit aangrijpende vervolg op Gewist dwingt een charismatische maar gevaarlijke man uit haar verleden Kyla een keuze te maken.

Break a leg

Over spannend gesproken… Chinouk’s nieuwste boek is ook weer een topper! Ik was een van de proeflezers en nu heb ik het uiteindelijke boek ook kunnen lezen. Hij is zo goed en spannend geworden. LEZEN!

Tweede deel in de Truth or Dance-trilogie

Dit jaar zou alles anders worden. Maar nu India is toegelaten op de vervolgopleiding van het conservatorium wordt ze ook daar lastiggevallen. Via de groepschat Truth or Dance stuurt een anomieme stalker haar en haar vriendinnen nieuwe opdrachten – nog gevaarlijker dan vroeger en met nog ergere gevolgen als ze niet gehoorzamen. De meiden leven voor het ballet, maar zijn ze klaar voor een dans des doods?

Perfectly Preventable Deaths

Dit vond ik een heel bijzonder boek om te lezen. Het gaat over een tweeling, hekserij en een mysterieus dorpje in Ierland, waar er al decennialang meiden verdwijnen… De setting is echt fantastisch, evenals de cover.
